Within speaker variation due to induced stress
نویسندگان
چکیده
Some preliminary investigations on within-speaker variations due to induced stress have been performed. The background is that we wanted to investigate ways to take care of within speaker variations in speaker verification. To get speaker variation, speaking behaviour elicitation software has been developed. The software is used to record speech from 50 Swedish male speakers. In this paper the elicitation technique and some preliminary acoustic data from the elicited speaker variations will be discussed.

Reliability study of organic complementary logic inverters using constant voltage stress
We performed constant voltage stresses with different bias conditions on all-organic complementary inverters. We found a 20% maximum variation of DC inverter parameters after a 10-s stress. However, the largest stress-induced degradation was found in the delay times, which increased by a factor as high as 7. This is mainly due to the threshold voltage variation of the p-type thin-film-transisto...
متن کاملTEO-based speaker stress assessment using hybrid classification and tracking schemes
Speaker variability is known to have an adverse impact on speech systems that process linguistic content, such as speech and language recognition. However, speech production changes in individuals due to stress and emotions have similarly detrimental effect also on the task of speaker recognition as they introduce mismatch with the speaker models typically trained on modal speech. The focus of ...
متن کاملHow Psychological Stress Affects Emotional Prosody
We explored how experimentally induced psychological stress affects the production and recognition of vocal emotions. In Study 1a, we demonstrate that sentences spoken by stressed speakers are judged by naïve listeners as sounding more stressed than sentences uttered by non-stressed speakers. In Study 1b, negative emotions produced by stressed speakers are generally less well recognized than th...
متن کاملAnalysis of Pseudo-Turbulence Flow Induced by Bubble Periodic Formation in Non-Newtonian Fluids
Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV) has been employed to determine pseudo-turbulence characteristics of the flow field around bubble train forming in non-Newtonian caboxymethylcellulose (CMC) aqueous solution at low gas flow rate condition. The Reynolds stress and turbulent intensity of the liquid were investigated by means of Reynolds time-averaged method. The experimental results show that ax...
متن کاملExtreme environmental change and evolution: stress-induced morphological variation is strongly concordant with patterns of evolutionary divergence in shrew mandibles.
Morphological structures often consist of simpler traits which can be viewed as either integrated (e.g. correlated due to functional interdependency) or non-integrated (e.g. functionally independent) traits. The combination of a long-term stabilizing selection on the entire structure with a short-term directional selection on an adaptively important subset of traits should result in long histor...
